Argentina: Inflation has An Annual High of 38.5% in January

The Argentine consumer price index advanced 38.5% in January, compared to the same month last year, and increased by 4.0% compared to December 2020, maintaining the last monthly variation of the index, as reported on Thursday 11, the country’s National Institute of Statistics and Census (Indec). The biggest increase by sector was with communications, which registered an increase of 15.1% compared to December. In the same period, the category of restaurants and hotels increased by 5.4%, followed by food and beverages and recreation and culture, both sectors with 4.8% monthly growth in prices
