Asus Zenbook Duo UX482E The Ultraportable with An Amazing Dual Screen

Futura was able to test the new 14-inch Zenbook Duo from Asus. Classic in appearance when closed, it is confusing when opened with its strange secondary screen which occupies the upper part of the keyboard. Overview of this very special ultraportable.

In high-end ultra-notebooks, the Asus Zenbook Duo is a strangeness. In addition to its muscular configuration, the laptop PC has not one, but two screens. The main one is a 14-inch touch screen virtually devoid of borders, while the second, placed in front of the keyboard, is a 12.56 inch called Screenpad +. It is slightly tilted to improve readability and avoid reflections. With this characteristic, the laptop PC is intended more for the professional market and, in particular, for sectors specializing in graphic arts and video. The secondary screen effectively allows you to view and touch creative software tools, like Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom, After Effects, and Premiere Pro. Moreover, for the moment, these are the only software that can be used in this way with the Screenpad

In terms of appearance, the feel of a premium-type laptop is undeniable. Despite its two screens, the laptop remains relatively thin. Its weight is 1.6 kg. Of course, it is not a featherweight but, with the presence of a second screen and a large capacity battery, the weight of the whole is necessarily affected. It is when we unfold this Zenbook Duo that we discover the clever hinge system which both inclines the base of the laptop and also raises the Screenpad +. The end result is that the two screens appear to be practically in continuity.
