Croatia: Covid Passports can Also be Obtained After a Single Dose of the Vaccine
The Minister of the Interior Davor Bozinovic said that Croatia was the first to implement them at border crossings, so he was not sure where Croats would be able to travel with that certificate.
The Minister of the Interior and the Head of the National Civil Protection Headquarters, Davor Bozinovic spoke in Parliament about covid passports.
They started to be issued today, all our citizens who have the eCitizens system or those who go to the CNIPH branches can get a certificate. Those who have been vaccinated with a single dose, if 22 days have passed since that vaccination, can also get that confirmation, Bozinovic said, adding that Croatia is among the most advanced countries in the European Union in that regard.
Along with Croatia, Germany, Italy and Denmark are still ready to issue these certificates, the minister said.
Everyone who has these certificates can enter the Republic of Croatia, said Bozinovic, adding that about 15,000 certificates have been issued so far.
Asked whether it is possible to travel outside Croatia with this certificate, Bozinovic said that this is the area of a sovereign decision of each state.
Asked where he can travel with a covid-passport, Bozinovic said that Croatia was the first to implement them at border crossings, so he was not sure where Croats would be able to travel with that certificate.
“Since we first implemented it, I am not sure that it is possible in several countries with covid confirmation so far. It is important to us that all those who have this certificate can come to us, because we are a tourist country. It is important to reduce detention at the borders, “Bozinovic said.
“The entire system for the entire European Union will enter into force on July 1. It would be ideal for us that all states have the same rules when it comes to vaccine doses, but it is the sovereign right of each state to decide on the criteria. I hope that the rules will be the same, because that is logical “, said Bozinovic.
“I think that the Czech Republic is still resolving some technical issues related to their issuance of covid certificates,” said Bozinovic, adding that digital certificates are issued only for vaccines approved in the European Union.
Let us remind you that today, through the eCitizens system and in the offices of the CNIPH, EU digital covid certificates, the so-called covid passport.
