Erdoğan Reacted to Merkel’s “Islamist Terror” Statement in Live Broadcast

President Tayyip Erdoğan reacted to Germany’s Prime Minister Merkel’s statement “Islamist terror” in a live broadcast.


German Chancellor Angela Merkel came to Ankara today as the invitation of Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım.

Merkel met with President Tayyip Erdoğan at the Presidential Palace in Beştepe. The two leaders held a joint press conference after the independent opinion.

President Erdogan saidThe concept of “Islamist terror” is upsetting us as Muslim. Because Islam and terror can not come together. The meaning of Islam is peace. Therefore, if the word means bring peace with expression to terrorism, then these religion members are on it. If we use Islamist terror because of the terrorist organization; Please do not use it. As long as it is used, we have to stand against it. If we remain silent, it will be accepted. I personally can not accept as a Muslim President. ”
