Bolivian President Evo Morales spent the night on the floor with coca pickers and flies to Mexico City on board a Mexican Air Force plane.

Former President Evo Morales tweeted late on Monday night that he was leaving Bolivia for Mexico, which granted him asylum.

Sisters and brothers, I leave for Mexico, grateful for the detachment of the government of that brother town that gave us asylum to take care of our lives. It hurts to leave the country for political reasons, but I will always be pending. Soon I will return with more strength and energy.
