French Health Minister Olivier Veran advised his citizens not to take “anti-inflammatory” for a Coronavirus infection, which the WHO declared a pandemic last week.

The French minister, in a tweet on his Twitter account, on Saturday evening, warned that taking such antihistamines could worsen the condition of the person infected with Coved 19.

Olivier Veran: “Taking anti-inflammatory drugs (ibuprofen, cortisone, …) could be a factor in worsening the infection. If you have a fever, take paracetamol.
If you are already on anti-inflammatory drugs or in doubt, ask your doctor for advice.”

French Prime Minister, Edouard Philippe, had announced on Saturday that the authorities in the country had decided to close most shops, restaurants and recreational facilities from midnight as part of the measures that they take to contain the spread of the virus. He added in a press conference that exceptions to the ban would include food commodity stores, pharmacies and gas stations.

The Prime Minister’s press conference came after the public health authorities announced that the number of deaths had reached 91 so far, while 4,500 had contracted the disease. And those numbers rose after the authorities recorded 12 new deaths from the disease on Saturday and announced on its website this rise in the number of cases after it was 3661 on Friday.

Moreover, Philip said that the government has no choice but to make this decision because many people are still on the street and are not effectively implementing the newly announced measures to accelerate the spread of the virus.

Nevertheless, he announced that the local elections scheduled for Sunday will be held on time.
