Fujitsu has Decided to Sell its Mobile Phone Business

Fujitsu Personal’s subsidiary Fujitsu Personal’s is planning to sell its mobile phone sales business, and it is expected that the amount sold will be tens of billions of yen.

Fujitsu Personals has deployed over 100 “DoCoMo shops” nationwide that sell handsets with NTT DoCoMo with an agency contract. In the future, we will focus on personal computer sales business for corporations.

Fujitsu has pushed information technology (IT) services as a pillar of future management, and was promoting a strategy to separate businesses of thin related cell phones and so on. In March this year, we have sold the mobile phone manufacturing business to the Japanese investment fund Polaris Capital Group, which seems to have judged that the meaning of continuing to have a sales business has declined.
