Italy has Reached an Agreement with the EU

Two months after Brussels rejected the Italian draft budget for 2019, Rome finally reached an agreement with the European Commission on Tuesday (December 18th).

The Italian government has reached an agreement with the European Commission on its draft budget 2019, announced Tuesday, December 18 the spokesman of the Minister of Economy, Giovanni Tria. The agreement will be formalized Wednesday in Brussels, he added.

The European Commission rejected in October a first version of the draft budget prepared by the coalition formed by the Right-wing League and the 5-Star Movement on the grounds that it violated European budgetary rules. The Italian government agreed Sunday night on its revised draft budget.
