Jailed pro- Kurdish Party Leader Demirtaş’s Wife Went to Vote Alone
Başak Demirtaş, Wife of the HDP Co-Chair Selahattin Demirtas, vent to poll for the referendum in Diyarbakır Kayapınar District.
Başak Demirtaş said, “I hope the result of this referendum will be good on the way to our freedom, peace, freedom of democracy”.
Within the scope of the investigation carried out by the Chief Public Prosecutor of Diyarbakır, HDP Co-Chairman Selahattin Demirtaş, had been detained in Edirne F Type Closed Prison since 4 November 2016.
Başak Demirtaş, the wife of HDP Co-Chairman Selahattin Demirtaş, goes to vote for the first time without her husband.
Başak Demirtas, who came to Kayapınar Primary School in Kayapınar District with his relatives, waited for a while to come to the line with the voters. Başak Demirtaş said: “I hope the result of this referendum woul be: the road for freedom , peace and democracy for our people”
While Başak Demirta,leaving the school journalists reminded her that she votes first time alone without her husband she said, “Struggle continues for all kinds of”.
She is surrounded by people those who came to vote applauded her and began to shout slogans, ” Fridom for our Chairman”
