MG Cyberster: A Spider of The Future to Remember The Past
The MG releases the first images of the Cyberster, the prototype of a spider with an electric motor inspired by the historic MGB.
MG is a historic English brand that has been under the control of the Chinese Saic since 2007, which has planned a recovery plan that also includes Europe, a favorite terrain for the famous Morris Garages sports. After the recent presentation of the R Electric crossover and the MG5 Electric station wagon, which will arrive later this year alongside the compact SUV MG ZS EV and the rechargeable hybrid MG EHS, the house unveils the Cyberster concept, a bold starter of what could be a future production model.
Developed by the London design center, the MG Cyberster, which will debut at the Shanghai Auto Show, is an elegant two-door, two-seater roadster that incorporates some references to the iconic MGB spider. It has a sinuous hood and headlights that “open” when turned on. Particularly the aerodynamic shape of the bumper, which channels the flow of air to cool the braking system, as well as the small windshield surrounded by a minimal frame. The back features the illuminated MG logo and LED headlights with a Union Jack-inspired “light signature” (the flag of the United Kingdom).
The Chinese house will unveil all the specifications at the debut of the MG Cyberster at the Shanghai Motor Show, however it has confirmed that it is conceived on a completely electric architecture, has a range of 800 km, 5G connectivity and is able to shoot from 0 to 100 km / h in less than three seconds.
