Mira Ricardel Had Been Deposed at Melania’s Request
Following criticism from US First Lady Melania Trump, Deputy National Security Advisor Mira Ricardel has been relieved of her post. Ricardel will leave the White House and get a new job in the government, government spokeswoman Sarah Sanders said. US President Donald Trump is grateful for Ricardel’s continued service.
Melania Trump had previously spoken publicly for Ricardel’s dismissal. “It is the attitude of the First Lady’s office that she (Ricardel) no longer deserves the honor of serving in the White House,” said her spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham.
The First Lady usually holds with public statements back very much, moreover, with statements of a political nature that she also offensively required the dismissal of a senior government representative, was all the more noticeable. And even more, it causes uproar that their request now has immediate consequences.
Ricardel is said to have clashed with First Lady employees during Melania Trump’s Africa trip in October, according to the Wall Street Journal. It should have been about seats in the plane and requests for the use of funds of the National Security Council.
The president’s wife said in a television interview during her trip through Ghana, Mali, Kenya and Egypt that there are people in the White House whom neither she nor the president could trust. She did not want to reveal her name.
