Turkish riot police clashed on Wednesday with thousands of protesters in Istanbul after a deadly mine explosion.

Protesters, most of them from left-wing unions, chanted anti-government slogans as they marched along Istanbul’s Istiklal street. Police responded with tear gas, water cannon and plastic bullets. The clashes left some people injured, and arrests were also reported.
