Only a few months after the presentation of the 992 GT3, Porsche is launching the Touring Package for all customers for whom the rear wing of the GT3 is a bit too conspicuous!

It was only a matter of time: The Touring Package for the Porsche 911 GT3 is back! It is now available as an option free of charge. The base price of the GT3 is 170,969 euros and the rear wing is definitely the visual highlight of the recently presented 911 GT3 of the 992 generation. The elaborate gooseneck construction, which is derived from the 911 RSR racing car, favors the airflow on the underside of the wing and provides a connection with the front spoiler for 50 percent more downforce compared to its predecessor. Now Porsche is bringing the touring package for the GT3 and that does not require XXL wings. The 992 GT3 Touring will be available with an optional seven-speed PDK for the first time!

At first glance, it may seem strange that Porsche does without the distinctive gooseneck rear wing, the eye-catcher of the GT3, in the Touring package, but it makes perfect sense, because the GT3 Touring is the right 911 for those who are not quite so Apply thickly but still want to enjoy the famous four-liter vacuum cleaner with 510 hp. In the current portfolio, the GT3 is the only naturally aspirated 911 – and what kind of engine sits there in the rear: The high-revving four-liter boxer six-cylinder comes from the 911 Speedster. The performance of the GT3 has increased by ten PS to 510 PS compared to its predecessor 991.2, the maximum torque is 470 Nm. In addition, the 4.0 (as in the Speedster) now also has a single throttle valve system in the GT3, which is supposed to fuel the turning ability of the flagship engine again. The maximum speed is still 9000 tours. The first test of the 992 GT3 gives a good impression of what this phenomenal naturally aspirated engine feels like: “The engine rages like crazy through the rev range, develops brute force. In addition to the engine, Porsche naturally retains all the finesse of the 992 GT3 in the Touring package. Means: double wishbones on the front axle, front bonnet and boot lid made of carbon, lightweight windows made of polycarbonate, forged wheels in 20- / 21-inch and much more. With the 991.2 generation, the GT3 Touring was first introduced in 2017 after the legendary Carrera RS from the 1973 model year and promptly advanced to become a success. Exclusively with a six-speed manual gearbox and without a rear wing, the GT3 Touring was primarily designed for longer road trips such as Alpine tours, but of course it could also be used on the racetrack.

On request, Porsche is also offering the 992 GT3 Touring for the first time with a seven-speed PDK; the classic manual transmission will of course remain in the program. In addition to the omission of the rear wing, there are also other, not quite so noticeable, differences to the normal GT3. The front apron is painted completely in the vehicle color and the window trim strips are made of high-gloss anodized aluminum. If you don’t like the latter, you can order the optional Exterior Black Touring package, which not only blackens the window ledges and exhaust tailpipes, but also darkens the taillights.

Interior with leather instead of Alcantara
With the Touring package, the interior is lined with leather over a large area. Just like its predecessor, the steering wheel rim and gear lever are covered with smooth leather instead of Alcantara. The seat centers are covered with black fabric. As far as the optional equipment is concerned, almost all options of the GT3 can also be combined with the Touring package. In addition, Porsche recently announced that it would significantly increase its capacities for the popular PTS colors (“Paint to Sample” / special paintwork ex works) – the 992 GT3 should also benefit from this.
