Rooney Loses to Direct Rival in First Game as Official Coach

Wayne Rooney did not play well in Derby County’s first game as an ‘official’ coach.

A few days after passing from acting to official, the former English international, who heads the team since November, had a defeat (1-0) with Rotherham, direct opponent in the fight for permanence.

The only goal of the match was scored by Jamie Lindsay at 86 and even allowed Rotherham to overtake Derby County in the standings, even with the same 19 points.

Rooney’s team is now 23rd and penultimate in the Championship.
