Taylor Swift Fan Earns $16,000 Selling Eras Tour Friendship Bracelets

Are you already creating your friendship bracelets for Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour in Milan? Know that this activity could soon turn into a very profitable business, as a US fan has earned over 16 thousand dollars by selling them online.

Since Taylor Swift embarked on her record-breaking Eras Tour, fans have been trading friendship bracelets emblazoned with song titles, lyrics and other themed messages. Inspired by a lyric from “You’re On Your Own, Kid,” exchanging bracelets has become a staple part of the artist’s concerts.

While most people have made their own, there are also many places online where you can buy ready-made batches of bracelets.

Jamie Tompkins, 46, an Oklahoma resident, has made and sold bracelets for the Swifties and has earned a whopping $16,000 so far. Speaking to Insider, he explained that he originally opened his Etsy shop (PigtailsandPixiDust) in early 2022 as a hobby. However, thanks to the Eras Tour, the shop took off after she attended the concert in Arlington, Texas in April 2023.

“I started by selling hair bows and headbands in my shop. Then my daughter and I made 100 friendship bracelets to trade on the Eras Tour,” Jamie told the outlet. “Eventually there were about 50 left and my daughter suggested I put them in my Etsy shop to sell. They sold out in two days and I’ve been making more every day since.”

Jamie currently sells packs of five bracelets for $15, all featuring the titles and lyrics of Taylor Swift’s iconic songs. People have bought them in such large quantities that the woman will soon be able to afford to retire early, to focus on her Etsy shop.

What are Taylor Swift surprise songs

In July 2024 Taylor Swift will arrive in Italy with her Eras Tour, and those who participate must be ready for a fantastic concert lasting more than three hours, including a moment dedicated to the infamous “surprise songs”. But what is it about?

Taylor Swift’s Eras Tour lineup contains many songs from every album by the singer-songwriter, but not only. Indeed, at each concert, the artist performs one or two surprise songs, during a mini acoustic set on guitar and piano.

It all began on March 17 in Glendale, Arizona, when Taylor Swift announced that she would bring different “surprise songs” to each date of the Eras Tour.

“The plan, the goal, would be to play different songs every night and never repeat one. Right? So that when you hear her on your tour date, you know it’s the only time she’s going to play it in the acoustic set, unless it all goes wrong, maybe she’ll have to redo some in some other city. We hope to make it”.

So why does Taylor Swift play “surprise songs” during the Eras Tour? The artist wants to surprise his fans and give them a unique moment, therefore linked to the date they have decided to participate. Being a tour that pays homage to the singer-songwriter’s career, it is also a way to be able to sing live every song that the artist has ever made.
