The Coup Attempt in Venezuela

The Venezuelan government announced that a group of soldiers linked to the opposition launched a coup attempt and that the initiative was being suppressed.

Jorge Rodriguez, Vice President of Communication, Culture and Tourism in Venezuela, shared in his Twitter account that “a traitor working with right-wing opponents” is trying to suppress a small coup attempt by soldiers.

The President of the Parliament in Venezuela, which declares himself president Juan Guaido published on Twitter in a 3-minute video  and made calls to the soldiers to go out on the street.

In the three-minute video, Guaido, in front of an armored vehicle, a group of military and opposition activist Leopoldo Lopez, who was under house arrest, invited the soldiers to go out into the streets to protect the constitution.

“I urge you to move back in order to democratically reopen the country. It is time.” said.

In the Caracas, some military units cut roads, and in some ways military vehicles were seen.

Meanwhile, President of the Constituent Assembly of Venezuela, Diosdado Cabello, urged the people to meet at the presidential palace to defend President Maduro.
