The bike is not only a means of transportation, but also a carrier to store ammunition and resources. “Dayson” is an open world game, but ammunition management is also important because there are not many ammo in the field. The infected people, or ‘flicker’, are divided into two types. ‘Newt’ refers to an object that a child has become flickering due to an infection, and in normal circumstances he seeks opportunity by hovering around without attacking the deacon. Then, when Diacon’s stamina falls, he starts to run. Flickr, seen early in the story, is the ‘Newt’, and it’s not that difficult to deal with.

The problem is the flickers called ‘Horde’. They are a group of hundreds and act collectively. It is stronger, faster, and more aggressive than Newt. Above all, they start attacking, or when they find a prey, they start to call the crowd. It is therefore important to suppress them as soon as possible and quickly.

As long as the flicker’s nest is displayed on the map, you should constantly check it to remove the nest quickly. There are many ways to incinerate nests, among which the method developed by the developers was to use fuel. Fuel is a very important resource in ‘Dayson’. A variety of items are needed to fire an enemy using a fuel cell. The ability to create such items is a survival wheel menu. The Survival Wheel menu allows you to instantly set up a variety of items, or to create new items right away without having to jump to the inventory interface. We also configured the interface so that we can instantly check the items we have without going over to the inventory.

When you take advantage of it, you will be able to control the enemy. Night in “Dayson” is a very dangerous time. As the hordes begin to work in earnest, more flickers are coming closer to Deacon. Instead of having these risks, it is worth taking some risk if you want to increase your stats quickly because it gives you more experience.

As time goes by, the flickers start to shrink. Developers called it ‘hiding’. It is literally the sound of a flock, and when it begins to sound everywhere, hundreds or more flickrs of ‘Daygon’ are attacked. The emphasis on bike parking ahead is something to deal with, the developers added. It is because running alone can not reach safe house safely.

The concept of ‘Dayson’ is a field that is all around the world so that the whole world is thought to be enemy, but there is also a safe area for rest and rest. Raiders’ raiding patterns range from melee combat to sniping, and they can be disturbed in many ways, including damaging the bikes to keep them from moving. Raiders’ raids occur more frequently if there are nearby predator camps, and if the predator camp is removed, the frequency of raids will be lowered.
As bikes are damaged, there is always a need to manage the bikes as there are restrictions on movement. However, as there is not enough inventory to get all the resources needed to repair the bike in advance, you have to use various resources around you. As with survival games, players feel that they are lacking resources until they are able to play to a certain degree. There are a lot of ammunition to knock down enemies with melee weapons. Even melee weapons have durability, so they can not be used forever and need to be replaced at a suitable point.

These deficiencies can be obtained from the surrounding environment. Sometimes there are pitfalls such as the bear trap used in the log cabin. When flickers’ nests are burned, the flickers that are hiding in the nest rush in a row, adding combat focus to make it easier to deal with these flickers. If you sweep flickers in one area, you can quickly move to Safe House. The player can safely move to the safe house without any manipulation. Of course, there are restrictions. Once you are on a bike, you need to have enough fuel on your bike and you have to be on a bike.

There is no guarantee that flicker will be safely returned to the bike because it has been swept away. When Flicker disappears, the raiders are struck to occupy the area. In addition to attacking Deacon from the front, the predators can also approach the bikes in secret or destroy them. If the bike breaks down, you should always be careful about the bike because you can not move before you repair it. Predators are also often moving on a bike, so if you can hear the bike you need to be alert to the surroundings and be prepared to respond to the predators.

Although it is rarely released at present, among flickr, there are more powerful beings than the Horde. It is an object that developers call ‘breakers’, which are bigger than ordinary flickers and do not die easily, and are hard to deal with, as strong as they are to throw them out. Although they did not disclose their appearance patterns or distribution, it is presumed that it is difficult to fight at the front unless at least some steps are taken because at least at least three predators are gathered.

Flickr and predators try to attack Deacon, but because they are not allied with each other, they will fight when they meet. In this case, the player may be allowed to fight against each other, to rest around, or to avoid a seat on the bike. In cleaned areas, you can safely go to the safe house with a fast travel, so you can reduce additional losses in addition to the fuel consumed between the movements.

The development team explained that the general play of “Dayson” is like the demonstration in the big frame. In order to survive, the player must constantly remove the infected area or the home of predators. And you can meet survivors and purchase equipment and weapons from them, so you can deal with infected people more efficiently. In a dangerous world where hundreds of enemies can suddenly come in at any time, the player can continue his or her survival as he does. That’s the charm of ‘Dayson’.

Q. When Deathgon was first released, the overwhelming number of flicker that struck the main character was shocking. However, it seems that the scale of the demo or the video that has been released recently has decreased slightly. It is not. Once the images were first released, the composition of the Horde is about 500. I will implement it to that extent in the game. The size of the Horde that once appeared in the demonstration today is around 250 to 300. It is a relatively small scale, but it is a matter of difficulty. It is a separate issue from performance issues.

Q. Decon will become stronger as you progress through the game. I would like to know whether you designed the game so that you can face the Horde in front of you with enough stats in the future.

However, if you can deal with the Horde directly, I can say that it is still possible to choose a different option than to deal directly with the Horde. For example, it may be easier to escape to another enemy, or such.

Q. When you play Survival Open World game, you may be blocked because the resources are exhausted. Sometimes I have to go back a long time. Is there any remedy?

There are several ways to overcome this. For example, there are weapons that can supply arrows around, like a crossbow. Resources used here continue to be provided. There are a lot of trees around, and it can be supplemented steadily by using it. It is also possible to go on a flicker hunt with it and collect resources with the credits provided by the camp.

In addition, various resources can be secured by searching around the area. You can see a police car or a place like that. The resources and solutions to survive the difficulties are all in the world. That’s the basis of survival games.

The most important factor in the “Dayson” is the bike. During the upgrade of the bike, you will upgrade the settle bag, the storage space of the bike. Our studio was a studio that loved the big challenge from the beginning. It was Jeff who made an open world game. One of the biggest challenges we face in creating “Dayson” is that we have created a story-based, slightly smaller field game, this time creating an open world-based game. On a bigger scale than I originally thought, I think it’s a bigger title and I have no choice but to challenge it.

What I once thought as a challenge was to keep the point of being an open world, while creating a story-driven game. In an open world game, I just wanted to get rid of the infected area and express various stories in various ways. I wanted to make the process cool by melting the stories and situations of Deacon and his friends Buzzers, flickers, assailants, survivors, and characters in that situation. In addition, various mechanisms appeared in the game, and we wanted to implement it with a constant tonal narrative.

In doing so, it was important to play the drama centered on the story and enjoy the fun of the open world game. This challenge is not easy, but we are making fun of it.
