The IPCC report confirms we have warmed the planet by 1.07 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels—and those temperatures are already influencing weather patterns.

We’re on track to reach 2.7 degrees Celsius by 2100. However, countries agreed to limit global heating to 1.5 degrees Celsius above pre-industrial levels when they signed the Paris Climate Agreement. Even the best-case climate scenario in the report shows us momentarily overshooting those goals in mid-century. Immediate decarbonization is the only way to make that happen.

The IPCC is the United Nations body for assessing the science related to climate change.
