Airbus: a new subsidiary dedicated to assembly with Stelia in Nantes and Saint-Nazaire

A new identity for the Airbus sites in Loire-Atlantique and for Stelia Aerospace. Airbus announced the launch next January of a new subsidiary, Airbus Atlantic, bringing together its aircraft structure assembly activities, including fuselage, wings and engine mounts, which will have 12,000 employees.

“The plan to transform Airbus’s industrial organization in the field of aerostructures, announced last April with the aim of meeting the major challenges of aeronautics, is continuing,” said the European manufacturer in a press release.

He underlines that the project has taken “a new step with the announcement of the name of the new aerostructure assembly company based in France and which will bring together the strengths, resources and skills of the Airbus sites in Nantes and Saint-Nazaire, central functions associated with these activities, and of Stelia Aerospace ”. The Stelia factories in Saint-Nazaire and Rochefort are, in particular, concerned.

A force of 12,000 employees worldwide
This new entity, Airbus Atlantic, will be a wholly-owned subsidiary of Airbus, “will benefit from a global industrial footprint and will bring together some 12,000 employees in five countries and three continents”.

Operational from January 1, 2022, Airbus Atlantic “will aim to rely on strong agility, consistency and competitiveness in order to establish itself as a champion of international aerostructures, at the service of Airbus and an industry. efficient, stronger and sustainable aeronautics ”.
