Kimlikleri açıklanmayan anne ve bebeğin hastaneden taburcu edildiği ve sağlık durumlarının iyi olduğu belirtildi. O bebeğin fotoğrafı ilk kez yayınlandı:
Rahim naklinin geçen yıl yapıldığını belirten doktorlar, rahmin ailenin yakını olan 61 yaşındaki bir kadın tarafından bağışlandığını belirtti. Anne adayının nakil sonrasında tüp bebek yöntemiyle hamile kaldığı açıklandı.
Doktorlar, nakil sonrasında rahmin annenin vücüdu tarafından bir kez reddedildiğini ancak ilaç tedavisiyle sorunun aşıldığını söyledi.
Tarihe geçen operasyonun ayrıntıları Lancet isimli tıp dergisinde yayınlandı. 36 yaşındaki bir İsveçli kadın, rahim nakli olduktan sonra doğum yapan ilk kişi olarak tıp tarihine geçti
