The Turkish Armed Forces have published a press statement on their website on Saturday with regards to the allegations claiming the existence of a Gülenist structure within the institution.

The statement denied such allegations and said that “The Turkish Armed Forces does not, and will not have any connections or partnerships with any illegal or clandestine organizations. This is because the Turkish Armed Forces are a national army.”

The press release also stated that “It should not be forgotten that the Turkish Armed Forces is the most determined organization which fights against those who abuse ethnic or religious structures that function outside the formal state structure.”

The press statement, published on Turkish Armed Forces’ website, also stated that the organization has started a highly detailed administrative and legal investigation, with regards to a “parallel-structure” allegations, and continues to intensify their efforts put into the matter
