Volkswagen Nivus Advances in January And Leaves Former Sales Leaders Behind

The year 2021 started well for the Volkswagen Nivus. A little more than two thirds of the first month, the car is the one that most advanced in participation in its segment. For the time being, it has been opening up an advantage to two former sales leaders, who are lagging behind. From January 1st to 21st, Nivus occupies the fifth position in the ranking of best-selling compact SUVs. And it will hardly be overcome until the end of January. For the first time, it should close a month in the list of the five most emplacadas models in the segment.

The year 2021 started well for the Volkswagen Nivus. A little more than two thirds of the first month, the car is the one that most advanced in participation in its segment. For the time being, it has been opening up an advantage against two former sales leaders, who are lagging behind.

From January 1st to 21st, Nivus occupies the fifth position in the ranking of best-selling compact SUVs. And it will hardly be overcome until the end of January. For the first time, it should close a month on the list of the five most popular models in the segment.

That’s because Nivus has already opened a good advantage over the two cars that are immediately behind in the ranking. These are the Nissan Kicks and the Honda HR-V. Both have already led the segment’s sales.

The HR-V was the most successful for three years after its launch in 2015. Then it was surpassed by the Jeep Renegade, which occupied the first position until 2019. In 2020, the Volkswagen T-Cross surpassed its rival.

Kicks led monthly sales on some occasions. And, until the arrival of the T-Cross and Chevrolet Tracker, he was always in a fight with Crete for the vice-leadership of sales.

Back in the first 21 days of January, Nivus added 2,346 license plates, according to data from the National Federation of Motor Vehicle Distribution (Fenabrave). Right behind the Volkswagen appears the Kicks, in the sixth position, with 1,569 copies sold.

There are almost 800 units of disadvantage for Nivus and, with six business days remaining for the end of the month, the mission to discount this difference is quite complicated. Kicks, incidentally, is threatened with losing sixth position. The seventh place, HR-V, is very close: it has 1,517 license plates in the period.

The four best-selling compact SUVs
The first position in the ranking of compact SUVs from January 1st to 21st is Jeep Renegade. The car has already sold 5,317 units. In the general list of the most registered, it appears in the third position, behind the leader Chevrolet Onix and the vice Fiat Strada.

Renegade, unless there is an unusual license in the competition, such as that of a large number of copies sold to fleet owners, has already secured the first place. The advantage is great for the runner-up, Volkswagen T-Cross (3,902).

The third best-selling compact SUV in the period was the Chevrolet Tracker, with 3,010 license plates. Crete is in fourth place, with 2,898 specimens with plates.
