Atlus Asks Xbox Fans Again if they are Interested in Persona And Other JRPGs

The company responsible for ‘Shin Megami Tensei‘ and other Japanese RPGs launches a survey targeting Western gamers asking about interest in Xbox.

Atlus launches an extensive survey every year to gauge player interest in its products. It is a questionnaire asking, for example, if one would like to play Persona on Switch or Shin Megami Tensei in virtual reality; and last year, also about the interest in playing the next installments of Etrian Odyssey, Persona and Shin Megami Tensei on Xbox; as well as the interest in seeing re-releases of games like Persona 5: Royal, 13 Sentinels: Aegis RimShin Megami Tensei IV, among many others, on the Microsoft console.

But if the Windows Central medium echoes this news, it is not because they ask again, but because this time they do it with a survey aimed at the North American public, where obviously there will be more players interested in enjoying those award-winning JRPGs in Xbox consoles than in Japan. Question 38 of the quiz specifically gives the option “I’d like to play on Xbox” to the upcoming installments of Persona (Persona 6 is already announced) and Etrian Odyssey.

The results of this survey are clearly not binding. It has been more than two years since the same questionnaire asked Japanese users about their interest in seeing games like Persona 5 and Dragon’s Corwn Pro on Nintendo Switch. Although they admitted that they had never received so many responses, neither title is available on the hybrid console.

Soul Hackers 2 is coming to Xbox for the first time
However, and as a diffuse ray of hope, there are two titles that were on the list and ended up coming to Switch: Catherine: Full Body and 13 Sentinels: Aegis Rim. Also, going back to Xbox, we must not forget the surprise of the announcement of the release of Soul Hackers 2 simultaneously on Xbox, PlayStation and PC on August 26, 2022. Therefore, perhaps the survey will be taken into account more than what it looks like in the short term.
