New competition for the Nintendo Switch

With the ROG Ally 2023, Asus is launching a powerful handheld for around 800 euros. The most important features of the device are briefly presented in the introductory video:

The ROG Ally is quite light at 608 grams. It also measures 28 x 11.1 x 2.12 centimeters. It is equipped with a 120 Hz Full HD panel (1080p), which is supposed to optimally suppress screen tearing when gaming. The maximum brightness of the touch display is 500 nits. The Corning Gorilla Glass reduces surface reflection and ensures that outdoor gaming is also possible without any problems.

As already mentioned, the processor is the AMD Ryzen Z1 Extreme, the system is Windows 11 and the memory is an LPDDR5 6400. According to the manufacturer, the battery lasts for two hours of power gaming and up to 6.8 hours of video playback. The Ally is equipped with a “zero gravity cooling system” thanks to which overheating should be excluded.
