According to Nazareth Black, CEO of Zacua, the manufacturer of the Mexican electric car, electric cars will prolong their life for decades, and may even be a good that is inherited from one generation to another.

“With electromobility, a car can last you 20 or 30 years, and you can even pass it on to your children,” she said during a presentation at the INA PAACE Automechanika Mexico exhibition.

He explained that as in the domestic refrigerators that are currently used at home, in which it is strange that their motor requires changes because they can last for decades, in electric cars there are motors that will share that quality.

The battery and the intelligence of the electric car, he delved into, will eliminate the need to frequently buy a completely new car.

“In electric cars we are going to put a box (battery) with more autonomy, more intelligent. Then, the intelligence that moves the car, as in cell phones, will be updated. So if you imagine that, and a motor that can last 100 years, that’s why you don’t have to be up to date on the unit. It’s always going to be like having a new car all the time,” she said.

Black warned that the car manufacturing industry, in which he participates with the production of a zero emission vehicle, will be strongly impacted by this change, since there would be less demand for new cars.

However, he said electric car makers will have to find other industries to participate in or another product to market.

At the consumer level, he said, we will stop being slaves to a car consumption system in which we are always paying for a car. Also, we will have to abandon the idea that they instilled in us that the best car was the biggest and the one with the most parts, she concluded in his speech before those attending the auto parts exhibition.
