Global Companies Specific Guidelines for Vaccination

Some US companies are in the mood to force vaccination against COVID-19 as US President Joe Biden mandates that federal government contractors be vaccinated against COVID-19. However, there are still many global companies that do not have specific guidelines for vaccination.

Earlier, according to CNBC, IT company IBM, following United Airlines, recently notified its employees to complete the Corona 19 vaccination by December 8. IBM also warned that if the vaccine is not received by the deadline set by the company, it will result in unpaid suspension.

On the 27th of last month, United Airlines started the process of dismissing 593 employees who did not receive the vaccine after the company’s deadline for compulsory vaccination for COVID-19 expired.

Red Hat, an IT solution company that develops and supplies open source for businesses, announced that it would fire them if they disregard the mandatory vaccination policy and urged employees to complete vaccinations.

Salesforce, a corporate customer relationship management (CRM) software company, also seems to be recommending vaccination while aiming for vaccination of all employees at the headquarters level.

Meanwhile, a CNBC survey found that 80% of U.S. chief financial officers (CFOs) said they fully supported the Biden administration’s orders. In addition, less than 15% said they were completely against it.

Branches of global IT companies in Korea are also basically following the guidelines of the headquarters. According to the Korean branch of Dell Technologies on the 10th, Dell does not yet have guidelines for compulsory vaccination at the global level. However, it seems that there are separate places in each region that have issued guidelines for getting vaccinated to work at the office.

Oracle is in a similar situation with Dell. An Oracle Korea official said, “Although we are always talking to our employees about complying with quarantine guidelines, there are no comprehensive guidelines for vaccination against COVID-19.”

Amazon Web Services (AWS) explained, “Basically, all employees work from home and if they need to go to the office, they are closely monitoring the health status of employees, but there are no updates regarding mandatory vaccination.”
