Meghan Markle, has spoken on the CNN Heroes special, which celebrates the most inspiring times and people of the year.
During the show, Meghan Markle took the floor to thank those who have cared for families and individuals in need during the COVID-19 crisis.
Installed in her garden in California, the mother of young Archie delivered an inspiring speech filled with emotion. With shining eyes, the famous brunette paid tribute to the heroes of the pandemic, who ensured that vulnerable people in their community had food.
Here’s Meghan Markle’s surprise appearance on CNN Heroes:
“In March, the COVID-19 crisis hit hard and overnight everything seemed to change. The impact of the pandemic has been catastrophic for many families and far too many people have been faced with a heart-wrenching question: How am I going to put food on the table to feed my family? In the face of this devastating reality, we have also seen the power of the human spirit and the remarkable reactions of communities in these difficult times. We saw the good in people, in our neighbors and in entire communities, who came together to say that they would not stand idly by while their neighbors went hungry.
We have seen communities rise up and take action. When the children’s meal programs were cut off, we saw our neighbors making sure these children got the food they needed. And when those who are immunosuppressed or who are more vulnerable could not leave their homes, we, as communities, came forward to deliver the food they needed, to their doorstep. ”
[…] Tonight we celebrate these quiet heroes, some I know and others we applaud from afar. These people stood up and made sure that the most basic needs of our communities were met. They made sure that those around them did not have to suffer in isolation. They fed their neighbors in more than one way. And they’ve shown all of us that even in the darkest of times, when we come together, we have the power to remind someone else that there is hope, and that everything will be OK. ”
This is Meghan Markle’s first public appearance since announcing she had miscarried last month.
