Queen Elizabeth II receives a Barbie on her birthday and Jubilee. Queen Elizabeth II turns 96 today April 21, making her the oldest British monarch to reign and celebrating a jubilee year at the same time, she celebrates the Platinum Jubilee. Mattel marked the special occasion by creating a Queen Barbie, Barbie Elizabeth II.

According to Marie Claire, the Barbie Elizabeth II doll costs $75 (sold at Target and Amazon) and depicts the Queen dressed in white, with a blue sash and one of her iconic tiaras.

“We are honored to recognize Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II and her unprecedented 70 years of service with a Barbie doll made in her likeness,” said Lisa McKnight, Mattel’s EVP and Global Head of Barbie and Dolls.

“The Queen is the perfect addition to the Barbie Tribute Collection, intended to honor women whose contributions have made a huge impact. We are proud to celebrate her milestone and encourage children to learn more about her legacy.”

I loved the doll, she looks cute. The face reminds me of Helen Mirren, The Queen of Helen Mirren… In Daily Mail, Rebecca English pointed out that the Barbie was not made exactly with the proportions of the Queen, it has more Barbie standards, well, of course, it is a doll…
