SAS Sends SOS

The troubled airline SAS has warned of liquidity problems if the company does not receive fresh capital. The airline, which is partly owned by the Swedish and Danish state, announced that 9.5 billion Swedish crowns (904 million euros) would be needed in addition to the restructuring and cost cuts that had been decided.
The airline also announced that it posted a pre-tax loss of 1.56 billion kronor in the second quarter after a loss of 2.33 billion in the previous year.
