Snapchat Signs Contract with Universal Music Group

Snapchat signed a contract with Universal Music Group, the largest music label in existence, so that users could use new songs.

The company wants its followers to share music video content, in order to compete with TikTok, and the songs of artists such as Justin Bieber, the Bee Gees or Katy Perry can be used.

The agreements of this kind make it possible to put forward the artists but also the songs since TikTok notably brought up to date the title “Dreams” of the group Fleetwood Mac.

Other more recent titles, like ‘Savage’ by Megan Thee Stallion, have become very popular thanks to the Chinese video-sharing app.

Snapchat therefore intends to ride this trend in order to keep up with the hellish pace imposed by TikTok, which has become the most popular application of the moment among young people.
