Toyota Group Global Sales are on a Recovery Decrease to 780,5

On September 29, Toyota Motor announced the production, domestic sales, and export results of the Toyota Group, including Daihatsu and Hino, in August 2020. Global sales (including light) decreased 12.0% year-on-year to 780,553 units, the eighth consecutive month of negative growth.

The Toyota Group’s global sales fell by 45.3% in April and 34.1% in May due to the impact of the corona virus, but decreased by 16.9% in June and 12.0 in both July and August. It is on a recovery trend with a decrease.

Domestic sales (including light weight) decreased by 13.0% to 151,361 units, the 11th consecutive month of year-on-year decline. The share of the light market is 46.3%, up 1.6 points from the same month of the previous year.
