The company Halo met its works council on Thursday. It has been in liquidation since the fall and time is running out to relaunch this factory which manufactures steel crowns: it has enough to hold on financially until mid-May. Workers have long hoped for a buyer to appear in a green energy sector. The firm notably produces elements of rotating wind turbine systems. But it is apparently another track that is followed: the tires of the wheels of trams and trains.

 

A game-changing letter from STIB

According to our information, Stib, the Brussels public transport company, recently announced that it would be in difficulty if Halo were to close: for its trains to continue to run, it would have to supply itself to the abroad, with significant additional costs compared to local production. And this is not the only customer in the case.

 

A quarter of return to profitability

In addition, the first quarter of this year, which saw the continuation of part of the activities to ensure the last deliveries, made it possible to return to profitability.
