Pamela Anderson will Stop in Montreal to Participate in C2 Montreal

MONTREAL — Pamela Anderson will be in Montreal on May 24 to participate in the C2 Montreal event.

The British Columbia-born actress will share the stage with host Julie Snyder, rumored to talk about her return to the spotlight.

Anderson began her career as a model and became best known for her role in the “Baywatch” series in the 1990s.

She has been more discreet in recent years, focusing on her role as an activist for animal rights and the environment.

Pamela Anderson, however, returned to the news more recently with the broadcast on Netflix of a documentary about her life, “Pamela, a love story”, in which she recounts her difficult childhood, the beginnings of her career and her tumultuous relationship with her ex-husband, rocker Tommy Lee.

C2 Montreal is used to attracting big names to its annual event. This year, skateboarder Tony Hawk is also among the speakers.

The sex symbol of the 1990s intends to express to the Quebec host his thoughts on his return to the spotlight and the importance of reclaiming his story. A model and public figure known for her work in the entertainment world, the Canadian-born star has since attempted to overturn conventional wisdom about her, including spending the past few decades advocating for animal and environmental rights, veganism and fight against domestic violence. The recent documentary Pamela: A Love Story, broadcast on Netflix, also helped to shed a different light on the career of the icon who first became known in the Baywatch series.

C2 Montreal, which takes place from May 24 to 26 at the Fairmont Queen Elizabeth Hotel, will welcome on the same stage Yoshua Bengio, a Quebec researcher considered to be one of the greatest experts in artificial intelligence, and Yuval Noah Harari, historian and author at success story of Sapiens: A Brief History of Humankind, reputed to be one of the world’s most influential intellectuals. The two speakers, co-signatories of the open letter unveiled last March calling for a moratorium on the development of major AI models, will present their visions of the future, between the hope of seeing technologies serve the common good and the fears of see this progress change the fate of humanity.
