Apple has transferred the design of iPhones to MacBook Pros. On the contrary, they have a display from the iPad Pro.

So we’ve seen a new Apple Music subscription plan, new HomePod mini color variants, AirPods wireless headphones, and most importantly, new MacBook Pro laptops in two of their display sizes.

Who else could cite an Apple event than CEO Tim Cook. He did so from the exterior of Apple Park, and it was obvious at first glance that he was happy with what he wanted to show us. The whole virtual introduction took only 50 minutes. But those 50 minutes were really busy, without unnecessary space for blank passwords and phrases. On the other hand, the resulting feelings may be mixed.

This is mainly because the HomePod mini in its three new colors is still not officially available in the Czech Republic, we have been waiting disproportionately long for 3rd generation AirPods, and although the new MacBooks are truly amazing machines, they are just as controversial. . Of course, this is mainly due to the cut-out in the display, which Apple dared to deploy from large manufacturers in its computer first, but also the price of its solution.

A duo of new chips
Before the new MacBook Pro came on the scene, Apple focused on its evolution within chips. Last year we saw a revolution in the form of the Apple Silicon M1 chip, which first deployed in a 13 “MacBook Pro, MacBook Air, Mac mini desktop computer and this spring in a 24” iMac. If he wanted to gradually get rid of machines with Intel processors, professional laptops were simply the turn.

The company introduced two of its chips – M1 Pro and M1 Max produced by 5nm technology. The first offers a 10-core CPU, in which 8 cores are high-performance and 2 are economical. The second has a 10-core CPU and a 32-core GPU. Apple chips are energy efficient, so, as Apple says, even though they are 1.7 times more powerful than a PC chip, they are 70% more energy efficient.

A duo of new professional MacBooks
Apple is correcting its old mistakes. We got rid of the non-functional butterfly keyboard earlier, now the company has said goodbye to the Touch Bar, ie the touch panel instead of the function keys, which it introduced in 2016, and which was not so fully functional. Respectively, it did not find its way to the hearts of users. When he also removed all the connectors and left only the USB-C ones, many didn’t like it. Now we have HDMI, an SD card reader and even the MagSafe magnetic power connector returned. But did it have to take Apple a long 5 years?

So if the company returned the good old and proven in terms of display, it reached for a new one. Although we already know the mini-LED display technology from iPad Pro, it is now also present on Mac computers. It is better than LCD and in many ways rivals the more expensive OLED. The displays are also equipped with ProMotion technology, which in recent weeks has been washed mainly with iPhones 13 Pro. Even MacBooks Pro now have adaptive technology to restore the frequency of their display up to 120 Hz. The movement is smoother, the animation is nicer and the battery is also saved more. After all, it lasts 17 hours for a smaller model and 21 hours for a larger model in the case of video playback.

But another interesting element came. In order for Apple to shrink the chassis, and especially the frames around the display, which are 3.5 mm on the sides and 4.5 mm at the top, it had to fit a front 1080p camera somewhere. So he approached the cutout. Apple, on the other hand, is expanding this trend, which other manufacturers are trying to eliminate as best they can, to another product line. If you don’t like it, you can still reach for a 13 “MacBook Pro with an M1 chip.
