Apple Works on an Artificial Intelligence Capable of Reading Emotions

The solution is designed to motivate the user in the practice of physical exercise through the Apple Watch, according to ‘Bloomberg‘.

Artificial intelligence (AI) has become one of the main interests of a large part of the big technology companies. And Apple is no exception. According to Mark Gurman, a ‘Bloomberg’ analyst and one of the best-informed people about the developments of the bitten apple company, the firm is currently working on developing a system focused on health and exercise that would be capable of to read the user’s emotions thanks to the use of AI.

The objective of this system, which receives the name of Quartz within Apple, would be to keep the user motivated in the practice of physical exercise as well as improve their eating and sleeping habits. In order to work, artificial intelligence would rely on the data collected about the user’s state by Apple Watch, the company’s line of smart watches. The user would also have the option to record their daily mood through surveys.

Apple‘s ‘smartwatch’, like the rest that the user can find on the market, is especially focused on exercise and well-being. The company has not stopped adding related functionalities in recent years and, in recent months, many others have been leaked that will be available in its future watches. Among them is, for example, a glucose meter or an ovulation predictor for women

Thanks to the readings from the Apple Watch, and the work of the AI, the device would be able to create exercise routines and offer advice specifically designed for each person based on their state. Almost as if it were a personal trainer.

According to Gurman, this system could reach Apple devices as early as next year. Although it is possible that this year a limited version of the tool was already available. If so, it would surely be shown during the event that Apple has scheduled in September and in which the future iPhone 15 should be announced. However, the analyst warns that it is possible that, finally, the launch will be delayed or left in suspense.

Initially, the tool would appear as a separate application that would probably be paid for. As is the case with other platforms focused on the brand’s exercise and health, such as Apple Fitness+.
