BMW Group will Invest BRL 500 Million Over The Next 3 Years in SC

Completing 26 years, the BMW Group Brasil, without a doubt, has built a success story in this period in which it is in the country.
And there’s nothing better than celebrating by announcing an incentive of R$ 500 million to reinforce the company’s commitment, especially at the Araquari plant.
“Celebrating 26 years in Brazil selling more than all direct competitors combined is to celebrate and thank all our customers and employees, as well as our network. And we will reinforce our resources in order to reinforce our commitment to customers in producing new models and developing new technologies for the country”, highlights Aksel Krieger, CEO and President of BMW Group Brazil.
The contribution will be made over the next 3 years in several areas. Less than 6 months after the start of sales in Europe, the plant in Santa Cataarina will start producing in Brazil all combustion versions of the new BMW X3 and X4 for the domestic market.
The all-new X3 M40i, X4 xDrive 30i M Sport and X4 M40i will be released soon. The latter will be the most powerful and technological vehicle made in Brazil, with a 387 horsepower engine.
The icing on the cake, however, comes later: Araquari will receive the production of an unprecedented BMW model in the near future, which will be revealed soon by the company.
“Confirming the production of new models six months after sales in Europe and being sure that we will still receive a new and totally unprecedented model reinforces the quality of our team and processes to produce with technology, quality and passion in Brazil”, says Otávio Rodakoswiski, managing director of the BMW Group in Araquari.
The local Engineering team will be even more active in the development of digitization software.
It is worth mentioning that this team already has a very important role, at the Global level, in the creation of several devices, such as the Intelligent Personal Assistant, the BMW and MINI My App and the Digital Key, which allows the customer to open the vehicle with his cell phone. . New worldwide developments will also be announced shortly.
“Brazil is by far the market with the greatest potential in Latin America, as it has a diversified economy, a young population and open to new technologies. Therefore, we have great confidence in the country and we are promoting these relevant innovations at the Araquari Plant”, adds Alexander Wehr, President and CEO of the BMW Group for Latin America.
