DHL Places its Largest Order for Converted Cargo Aircraft

At the Dubai Air Show, DHL Express signed the contract for the acquisition of nine 767-300 Boeing Converted Freighters (BCF), intended to upgrade the long-haul fleet of DHL Express.

The decision to focus on Boeing’s converted cargo aircraft is part of DHL’s long-haul intercontinental fleet modernization program, reducing carbon emissions and fuel consumption.

DHL has already equipped itself with seven 767-300BCFs, which are used by DHL partner airlines in Latin America and the Middle East.

The 767-300BCF converted cargo aircraft can carry up to 51.6 tons (113,900 lbs) and has a range of up to 6,190 kilometers (3,345 nautical miles).

“We rely on the quality and expertise of Boeing’s cargo aircraft OEMs,” explains Geoff Kehr, Senior Vice President, Global Air Fleet Management, DHL Express. “The additional B767 freighters are part of our efforts to modernize the long-haul intercontinental fleet to fly greener and more profitably.”
