Turkey’s PM Erdoğan Says He’ll Shut Down Twitter
“We will wipe out Twitter. I don’t care what the international community says,” Turkey’s PM said Erdogan said in an election rally on March 20.
“They will see the Turkish republic’s strength,” he added.
In February the EU said the new internet restrictions pose “serious concerns” and that the law “needs to be revised in line with European standards.”
Erdogan said they are part of a “shadow state” formed by one-time ally and now apparently mortal enemy Fethullah Gulen, a cleric that lives in self-imposed exile in the US that correspondents say was instrumental in winning Erdogan the premiership in 20023.
