Former Bolivian President: US Plane Almost Brought me to Guantanamo

The former president of Bolivia, Evo Morales, has announced that the United States has offered him a plane to leave Bolivia, which would have taken him to Guantanamo Bay if he accepted that, as he put it.

Morales said: “The United States contacted the Secretary of State (Bolivian) and offered him to send a plane to take us anywhere we wish. I was sure that Guantanamo prison would be our place.”

Bolivian President Evo Morales announced his resignation on November 10 in response to a wave of protests that swept the Bolivian street, which opposed the results of the last presidential election, which Morales won a fourth term.

The President and First Vice-President of the Bolivian Senate also submitted his resignation, as well as the Bolivian Defense Minister, Javier Savaleta, who stressed that this is to preserve the status of the military and its role in the service of the people.
