Hundreds of Missiles were Fired at Targets Across Ukrine Tanks Entered from Belarus

At around 5 am this morning, Russia launched a full-scale military operation throughout Ukraine. After rocket fire on targets almost all over Ukraine, the Russian army launched a ground attack – tanks entered Ukraine from both Russia and Belarus. Belarusian troops have not entered Ukraine, President Lukashenko said.

Earlier, Russian President Vladimir Putin announced that he had decided on a special military operation. Addressing the people, Putin said: “Circumstances require us to take decisive and immediate action. The People’s Republics of Donbass have appealed to Russia for help. In this regard, in accordance with Article 51, Part 7 of the UN Charter, with the approval of the Federation Council and in pursuance of the treaties of friendship ratified by the Federal Assembly, I decided to conduct a special military operation.
The head of state noted that Russia’s plans do not include the occupation of Ukraine, but Russia will seek its demilitarization. “The whole course of events and the analysis of the information showed that the clash of the Russian Federation with the nationalist forces in Ukraine is inevitable, it is only a matter of time,” the Russian head of state said. He addressed the military in Ukraine: “You swore to the people, not to the junta, I urge you to lay down your arms immediately and return home.”

“Whoever tries to pose a threat to Russia – the answer will be immediate,” Putin said to Western countries.
“In Russia, they say that if we are strong, we do not need intelligence. But the real power is where the truth is,” Putin added.

Immediately after Putin’s speech, around 5 am, news agencies reported on powerful explosions in Kiev and Kharkov. Explosions were heard at Kiev’s Boryspil International Airport, but it later emerged that it had not been hit by a missile and that Ukrainian air defenses had fired on a Russian drone. The Ukrainian capital has been shelled with ballistic missiles, however, the Ukrainian Foreign Ministry said. People in Kiev have been urged to seek bomb shelters, and the city’s sirens are on. Despite calls to stay in the city, thousands chose to leave the Ukrainian capital, creating miles of traffic jams at exits.
Ukrainian media reported explosions in Kramatorsk, Odessa and Berdyansk. The airspace over Ukraine is closed. In areas bordering Ukraine, Russia has also closed its skies to civilian flights. Our country was attacked by Russia, with the support of Belarus, Ukrainian border authorities said.

Russia’s armed forces have not launched any missile, air or artillery strikes on Ukrainian cities, the Russian Defense Ministry said. Military targets are being attacked all over Ukraine, with the Russians first hitting parts of the air defense, air bases and control systems.

The Ukrainian-controlled city of Donbass, Mariupol, was attacked with the City’s multiple rocket launcher. After artillery training, Russian forces surrounded Mariupol, which is defended by the Ukrainian Azov unit.

MLRS “City” is used to attack along the entire “line of contact” between the republics of Donetsk and Ukraine. Local forces of the DNR and LNR, aided by Russian artillery, went on the offensive along the entire front in Donetsk.

Russia’s attack is not just by air. “Interfax-Ukraine” announced the start of a Russian landing operation in the Sea of Azov. The “news” about the Russian landing near Odessa turned out to be false. UNIAN announced that Russian troops have crossed the border in the Kharkiv region. The Russian military later confirmed this, saying that Ukrainian border guards had not resisted. Russian tanks entered Ukraine from Belarus, crossing the border at 8 a.m. at Senkovka, Chernihiv Oblast, and Kharkiv and Luhansk Oblasts.

The first city attacked by land is called Happiness. It is in the Ukrainian-controlled part of the Luhansk region. Early this morning, units of the People’s Liberation Army launched a landing against Happiness.

There are incomplete data on the reaction of the Ukrainian army. It is quiet in Donetsk and Luhansk. President Zelenski convened a meeting of the National Security Council. Zelenski circulated a video message on social media calling for calm. “Don’t panic. We will win. Glory to Ukraine!” The president said.

So far, official figures say at least seven Ukrainian soldiers have been killed and 9 wounded. There is only unconfirmed information about downed Russian planes and a helicopter. There is also information about destroyed Russian tanks near Kharkov
