Frankfurt The German operator of hydrogen filling stations H2 Mobility has collected 110 million euros from investors for the expansion of its still small network. The world’s largest investment platform for hydrogen Hy24, which is contributing 70 million euros, has been won as a new investor, the company said on Tuesday. The owners – Air Liquide, Daimler Truck, Hyundai, Linde, OMV, Shell and Total – are contributing 40 million euros.
The existing network of 92 filling stations in Germany is to be expanded to 300 by 2030. More than 200 are said to be large systems for refueling trucks and buses. The company wants to use this to prepare for the ramp-up of heavy vehicles with alternative drives, explained H2 Mobility boss Nikolas Iwan. The company wants to be profitable by 2026, he added.
