Johnson & Johnson MedTech Highlights the Importance of the Patient Experience at the SEROD and SECT Congresses

Johnson & Johnson brings to SEROD and SECT its innovations in robot-assisted knee surgery and different practical cases in thoracic surgery workshops, respectively.
Johnson & Johnson MedTech attends the congresses of the Spanish Knee Society (SEROD) and the Spanish Society of Thoracic Surgery (SECT), which will take place from May 10 to 12, in La Coruña and Las Palmas de Gran Canaria, respectively , in order to demonstrate with practical cases how the robotic solution for knee replacement contributes to the improvement of clinical results and, therefore, has a direct impact on the quality of life of the patient after the surgical intervention.
In this sense, Johnson & Johnson MedTech has organized a symposium on May 11, within the framework of the X SEROD Congress, where it will address the latest technological innovations associated with robotics in knee surgery, with its first surgery device. robot-assisted total knee arthroplasty.
The demand for robot-assisted total joint replacement surgery has been increasing in recent months. The improved alignment and positioning seen with robotic total knee arthroplasty may help to improve the patient experience and reduce pain.
Robot-assisted knee surgery provides the surgeon with control in the intervention, maximizing precision, especially in soft tissue areas and allowing precise and reproducible cuts, controlled at all times by the surgeon, without the need of a cutting block. “Robot-assisted knee surgery is designed to improve the consistency, accuracy, and reproducibility of clinical outcomes and increase patient satisfaction,” says Dr. Manuel Vilches, Johnson & Johnson MedTech’s medical director.
In addition, in the context of the SEROD congress, Johnson & Johnson MedTech will hold a symposium where different practical cases will be presented in which the company’s knee prostheses have contributed significantly to reducing pain and, with it, to an improvement in the quality of life of patients in the last ten years. Through these case studies, in which Drs. Javier Vaquero and Pablo Sanz, will delve into how patients who have undergone knee replacement surgery live satisfactorily with a prosthesis.
For its part, within the framework of the XIII SECT Congress, Johnson & Johnson MedTech will offer different participatory workshops to first and second year resident and assistant surgeons to delve into the use of thoracic surgery simulators, led by Dr. Toma Stupnik, through the Johnson & Johnson Institute. Likewise, the company will promote the symposium “Lobectomy or Sublobar, the evidence beyond the new clinical trials”, which will take place on May 12, moderated by Dr. Santiago Figueroa and with the participation of Drs. Nicolas Moreno and Pedro Rodriguez.
