New Virus Corona Rose in Tokyo

The number of new infections with the new virus, Corona, in Tokyo reached 55 today, Wednesday, the highest level in a month and a half after the emergence of a hotbed of infection in an office in the Japanese capital.

The city, with a population of about 14 million, has sought to keep daily infections below the level of 20, a day after Japan ended the emergency on May 25.

Tokyo city authorities have said they may reimpose restrictions if numbers rise to 50 or more, which has not happened since May 5.

And Yoriko Koike, the governor of Tokyo, today warned of the high number of injuries, following the appearance of 7 new cases, in an office in the capital earlier.

If the health authorities in South Korea announced earlier the start of the second wave of the new outbreak of corona in the country, stressing the need to prepare for a long-term fight against the pandemic, which is expected to continue in the summer.

The director of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention in South Korea, Chun In-gyon, according to the official “Yonhap” agency, said that the second wave has been hitting the capital, Seoul and its environs, since May, starting from random outposts of the spread of cases in the city.

“We initially expected the second wave to start in the fall or winter, but our expectations were wrong,” the health official said. “We believe that the spread of infection will continue as long as people continue to communicate closely with each other.”
