PM Barzani In Istanbul For Talks With Turkey’s Leaders
Kurdistan Region Prime Minister of the Kurdistan Region Nechirvan Barzani arrived in Istanbul today on an official visit where he is to meet his Turkish counterpart for talks on regional situation and bilateral relations between Erbil and Ankara.
The Prime Minister’s public relations officer, Sami Argushi told the government website that Barzani would meet Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu and President Recep Tayyip Erdogan to talk “many topics such as events in the region, war on terrorism and relations between the Kurdistan Region and Turkey,”
Erbil and Ankara enjoy strong economic ties and trade between the two countries is estimated at billions.
This visit comes after a similar visit by Kurdistan Region President Masoud Barzani to Turkey earlier this month.
