Queen Elizabeth Reveals Conclusion to Prince Harry & Meghan Markle’s Royal Exit for ‘Peaceful New Life’

Prince Harry and Meghan will no longer call themselves royal highs nor receive financial compensation for royal assignments, Buckhingham Palace said.

The Duke and Duchess of Sussex will also repay around £ 2.4 million in tax money they previously received for the renovation of their residence, Frogmore Cottage, the BBC writes.

Earlier in January, the British Prince and Princess announced that they wanted to step back from their roles as senior royalty.

They explained that they wanted to develop a new progressive role within the royal house and that they aim to work to become financially independent. At the same time, they announced that they will split their time between the UK and North America in the future.

Harry and Meghan have on several occasions previously expressed that they feel that public life is putting great strain, among others because of the great media interest.

Has the Queen’s support
“Harry, Meghan and Archie will always be much-loved members of our family,” said Queen Elizabeth in a statement.

She goes on to say that she is aware of the intensive guarding that Harry and Meghan have endured over the past two years and that she supports their desire for a more independent life.
