WhatsApp: Group Chat Icons can Now be Emojis with Colored Backgrounds

The beta version of WhatsApp now allows you to set an emoticon as a group chat photo. Here we tell you all the details.

WhatsApp is known for its incredible number of emojis available for users’ day-to-day lives. With an arsenal of nearly three thousand emoticons, the possibilities are nearly endless. Likewise, part of the enormous popularity of the application is also due to the countless updates and new tools that it introduces for Internet users.

This time, we will tell you about the most recent update that the beta version of WhatsApp received. As reported by WABetaInfo, it is now possible to customize the main image of a group conversation using only emojis and a colored background.

The avatars of a group allow you to identify it in the middle of the rest of the chats that you have in your tray; therefore, it is essential to know how to choose which icon to give it. Be it a funny photo or a memory of all the members, this image is crucial and can only be modified by one of the administrators.

In order to enjoy the addition, just follow the steps that we will list below:

First, you can convert your WhatsApp account into a test one through the App Store, if you have iOS, or the Google Play Store, if you use Android.

When you have the first point ready, enter your app and create a new group. You can also enter any other of your group chats, as long as you have the administrator role.

Press the panel where you can find the name and photo of the group, which is positioned in the upper central part of the screen.

Then tap on the avatar to edit it.

When the camera, gallery or emoji options appear, choose the one for emojis and stickers.

There, WhatsApp will offer you eleven background colors and your entire list of emojis and stickers to place on top.
Ready! Select what you want and save your changes.
