Goodbye to the 26th Edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion
The last edition of 080 Barcelona Fashion has left … the creations of its 20 brands and designers. For four days we have been able to enjoy Fashion Show Films and digital talks in which it has been impossible to miss the usual fashion shows.
The last talk was carried out by the creative director of Valentino, Pierpaolo Piccioli, who has just been awarded by the CFDA (Council of Fashion Designers of America) as the best international designer of women’s fashion of the year, together with Rossy de Palma in which they highlighted the importance of teamwork in the industry: “it’s the same as in a movie, the whole team makes it brilliant, not just the director or the main actor.
In these days of fashion, creators and their teams have given the best of themselves with their proposals for next year. Menchen Tomas opened the 080 Barcelona Fashion calendar with a collection in which white, black and pure colors such as blue, green or purple prevailed. All of them to dress a sophisticated but very real woman. And from Barcelona to the Moon, because in a setting inspired by the satellite Júlia G Escribà has presented his proposals. A thermoregulatory collection with technology developed for NASA in which it has opted for urban garments with certain Asian reminiscences dyed in the colors of the lunar palette.
With tie dye as the predominant trend for one more season, All That She Loves -the brand led by Carla Esteve– proposed a collection that is inspired by the waves and the Costa Brava and in which organic cotton stood out as a fabric. A collection that makes that eternal summer long awaited by many come true. For his part, Mans proposed a men’s collection inspired by the aesthetics of the photographer Slim Aarons, perfect for going to a party in Capri, Marrakech or Palm Springs.
On the second day, Escorpion was inspired by the summers of the 70s, that decade that gives so much play in the world of fashion and that in this case, the firm has brought it in the form of marine-style garments. And from the 70s we traveled to Tangier, the hometown of designer Guillermina Baeza. With its bathroom collection we feel the colors of this Moroccan city: mauves, oranges, blues …
More eclectic was the proposal by Guillem Rodriguez, whose Dreamboy collection, which was inspired by the James Bigdood movie Pink Narcissus, proposed a new, much sexier masculinity.
With a sustainable collection inspired by therapeutic plants, Yerse presented Herbarium in the garden of the Modernist Recinte de Sant Pau. A collection of fresh and cosmopolitan pieces that save the day when you don’t know what to wear. For her part, Sita Murt has not presented a collection, she has presented three under the slogan Come as you are. Three capsules with personality but with the designer’s mark. Essential Mood, more minimalist and monochromatic, City Green, perfect to wear in our day to day, and Chemical Softness, with asymmetrical pieces in fruity colors. A collection, which, as the designer herself confirmed, was for authentic and curious women. Like us.
Staying with favorite proposals is complicated, but the most applauded has undoubtedly been that slow fashion is increasingly present, that collections empower women even more and that the proposals of creators continue to make us dream of countries that do not we have visited, places we dream of or decades that we want them to return. 080 Barcelona Fashion says goodbye in digital format, but the applause at the final carousel is like the usual catwalk.
