Millions Stand For Democracy in Turkey
Million people Join a pro-democracy rally in Istanbul, bringing to an end three weeks of demonstrations in support of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan following the failed July 15 coup. Erdoğan invited opposition leaders to address the crowds
The leader of one opposition party, the National Movement Party (MHP), takes part.
“I will stand on the side of Turkey against traitors and centres of hostility National Movement Party’s leader Devlet Bahçeli said.
Head of the secular Republican People’s Party (CHP), Kemal Kiliçdaroğlu also attends , “Our commitment to democracy, our faith in the rule of law and our eternal respect for martyrs” he said.
