AirPods vs AirPods Pro: Is it Worth Buying the Most Expensive Ones

This, in a nutshell, is why some people aren’t sure which AirPods to buy. And while there are plenty of excellent non-Apple wireless earbuds out there (just do a search in our earbuds category for great deals and advice on inexpensive alternatives) presumably you’re reading this AirPods vs AirPods Pro comparison because you’re undecided between which choose and you are so convinced to buy one of these two models. Let’s see if we can help you make a decision.

Simply put, the main reason for buying standard AirPods is to save money. The model with the normal charging case currently costs a little but not as much as the model with the wireless charging case to which you will have to add at least 50 € (note: we are avoiding too much too much balance with the prices as they will soon change by new with Apple’s new releases).

Occasionally, prices go down and sometimes you can find “refurbished” options even for less than the price you expect.

Wireless charging is a bit overrated (when it comes to headphones), so we wouldn’t pay more for this option and we’d like to give you this advice too. If you have to buy the standard AirPods, you probably want to spend as little as possible so this thesis supports the discourse of avoiding buying the model with wireless charging.

As mentioned, some people don’t like having silicone headphones in their ears. This is why so many people like AirPods 2.

They are simply set in the ear and fit well and are really comfortable.

The AirPods 2 with wireless charging can be found here.

Here instead you find the second generation AirPods without wireless charging.

Standard AirPods fit snugly in some people’s ears (some people have no problem running into them too), but many people can’t find an ideal fit. If you are part of the latter group, we strongly recommend that you spend a little more on the AirPods Pro.

The AirPods Pro design simply fits more ears than the AirPods 2. It’s not a truly universal fit device because there are always exceptions, but they are close.

As we have already pointed out, the only problem is that some people simply don’t like having silicone headphones in their ears, even if they are soft and flexible.

Additionally, some people are sensitive to the sensation of pressure, even if slight, which is a side effect of active noise cancellation.

The first thing you notice about the AirPods Pro is that they simply sound better than the standard AirPods because they have more bass. The reason they have more bass is largely due to their new noise-isolating design and the new drivers that are tuned for that design.

Standard AirPods sound pretty decent in quiet places, but due to their open design, they don’t perform well in the face of outside noise – bass frequencies are drowned out. The noise cancellation of the AirPods, which is effective, also helps with external noise such as in city streets.
