Avianca Launched a New Price Scheme for Cheap Travel in Colombia

The airline will operate with a single cabin and will have new rates from October 20.

Vianca announced this Wednesday that domestic flights in Colombia will be carried out in a single cabin. It also launched a new pricing scheme in which the passenger can choose the travel plan according to their type of seat.

The airline will inaugurate sizes XS, S, M and L for flights from October 20. With the new plans, the passenger will be able to choose whether to purchase additional services to those offered by their travel scheme.

Manuel Ambriz, Chief Commercial Officer of Avianca, explained that with this strategy, the traveler will be able to choose if they require the carry-on or hold baggage service, or if they want to travel without additional services. “It’s like going to a fast food restaurant: if you want the combo, you order it and pay for it, but if you only want potatoes and soda, you order and pay just that,” he said.

The XS chair offers better prices on flights, but the user will not be able to purchase additional services. Quite the opposite occurs with size L, which allows the traveler to have access to carry-on and hold luggage. In addition, you can accumulate more miles and access any available chair at check-in.

The airline also highlighted that it will complete the process of reconfiguring its cabins on airplanes in 2022.

“It is worth remembering that we are in a year of transition and it will be at the end of 2022 that our fleet will have its final appearance,” said Ambriz.

Passengers who have already purchased XL and XLL seats for flights starting in October will keep the benefits of these plans.
